Emma Shoaf

Emma believes we were not built to struggle alone, but instead, we were created for authentic relationship with God, our own selves, and others. She is honored to walk beside clients through whatever storms may have come their way and feels that genuine connection can begin in the context of the counseling relationship. 

Emma utilizes a person-centered approach along with the belief that awareness is the first step toward change. Emma desires to work with those facing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic illness, self-esteem issues, and more. She has received training in play therapy and EMDR and likes to incorporate the expressive arts into session when appropriate. Emma is passionate about holistic health, understanding that true healing occurs when the mind, body, spirit and soul are treated as one. 

Education

Emma received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University and her Bachelor of Science in Consumer Sciences from The University of Alabama. 

Interests

When not working, she enjoys walking outdoors, reading, dancing, and cherished time spent with family and friends.
