Shelley Gabel

Shelley is passionate about walking alongside those seeking growth and healing as they work to overcome life’s challenges.  Motivated by her own journey of personal growth and inspired by those helping professionals who guided her along the difficult path, she is excited to grow in her counseling career and desires to help others the way that she has been helped.

Shelley has a heart for those seeking to make sense of life’s difficulties, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and develop more positive relationships.  She has a background in science and medical research, which have combined with her years of parenting experience to foster an interest in the science of healthy development and relational attachment in order to help people reach their full potential in various stages of life.  Shelley views the therapeutic relationship as key to client healing and growth and incorporates modalities such as CBT to help clients reach their goals, and mindfulness to improve nervous system regulation.

Born and raised in Alabama, she has called Memphis home for over twenty years.  She and her husband have a fifteen-year-old daughter.  She enjoys spending time with her family and German Shorthaired Pointer, being outdoors, driving country roads, traveling, and exploring historic sites.
